Message	the coolant is what makes the engine temp what it is. The yellow connector on the coolant pipe above the W.P. is the ECU sensor, the black one is for the actual gauge in the cluster. As far as the idle goes, sounds normal to compensate for more engine load with the fan on, then stabilizing.
